You put these on standing up
The knit opening stretches to let your foot through, then closes back around it. There are no laces to tie in the morning, nothing to loosen at the end of the day, and nothing that can come undone while you are out.
If you have ever kicked a pair of trainers off at the door and left them tied, these are the version of that shoe that still works the next morning.
About 7 cm of sole under you
The platform is thickest at the heel and steps down toward the toe, so the front of your foot still sits close to the ground. That is the reason these walk like a sneaker instead of like a block strapped to your foot.
The sole is vulcanized rubber, moulded in one piece with the upper rather than glued on at the edge.
Lighter than it looks
A shoe with a sole this thick is expected to be heavy. This one comes in at around 200 g — you can lift it with two fingers.
That is the difference between a pair you wear because they look right and a pair you are still wearing at the end of the day.
A knit upper, not a sealed one
The upper is knitted rather than cut from solid panels, so air moves through it. It also gives where your foot is widest, which is why a slip-on with no laces still goes on easily.
What these are not
These are an everyday shoe, so it is worth being straight about where they are the wrong choice.
Not running or training shoes.
The sole is built for walking, not for repeated impact.
The insole is fabric, not memory foam.
There is cushioning in the sole itself, but if you need a dedicated cushioned footbed, add your own insole.
Not waterproof.
A knit upper lets air through, which means it lets water through too.
Not a ten-hour standing shoe.
For a full shift on a hard floor you want a flat sole and a proper footbed.
Find your size in thirty seconds
Shoe sizes are not consistent between brands, so use your foot length rather than the size you usually buy.
Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall. Mark the paper at the end of your longest toe. Measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres. Measure both feet in the evening and use the larger number.
The knit gives, but a slip-on that is too long will slide at the heel.

FAQs
How high is the sole?
How high is the sole?
About 7 cm at the heel and about 3.5 cm at the toe. It steps down toward the front, so your forefoot stays closer to the ground than the heel figure suggests.
Are they heavy?
Are they heavy?
About 200g a shoe. Thick soles are usually heavy, and this one is not — there is a video of one on a scale further up the page.
Are they hard to walk in?
Are they hard to walk in?
They walk differently from a flat shoe, and most people take a few minutes to adjust. The sole is lower at the toe than at the heel, which keeps the front of your foot near the ground. Wear them indoors first.
I am between two sizes — which do I order?
I am between two sizes — which do I order?
The smaller one. The knit stretches to fit, but a slip-on that is too long will slide at the heel and there are no laces to tighten.
Will they fit a wide foot or a high instep?
Will they fit a wide foot or a high instep?
The upper is knitted, so it gives across the widest part of the foot rather than pressing against it. Order by foot length using the chart above.
How do I clean them?
How do I clean them?
Spot clean the knit with mild soap and cool water, then air dry away from direct heat. Do not put them in a washing machine or a dryer.
